LEGAL NOTICE- ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS Sealed bids will be received at the City Manager's office of the City of New Carlisle, 331 S. Church Street, New Carlisle, Ohio, 45344, until 10:15 am. (EDT) Monday, November 18th, 2019 and bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at 10:30 (EDT) Monday, November 18th, 2019. Bids are invited for the purpose of furnishing ROCK SALT for calendar year (2020), to be used for water softening by the New Carlisle Water Treatment Plant. The material to be furnished and each bid submitted therefore, shall strictly comply with the City's Specifications and Instructions to Bidders, heretofore prepared and now on file in the Office of the City Manager and at the City's Webpage at www.newcarlisle.net Each bid must be submitted in a sealed envelope clearly marked "ROCK SALT BID" and be accompanied by a bid bond, or by a certified or cashier's check on a solvent bank, in an amount of not less than ten percent (10%) of the total bid price, made payable to the City of New Carlisle, Ohio. Such bid bond or check shall be furnished as a guarantee that if the bid is accepted, a contract will be entered into. A performance bond in an amount of not less than ten percent (10%) of the contract price, with satisfactory surety / sureties, will be required for the faithful performance of the contract. Checks of unsuccessful bidders will be returned within ten (10) days after contract award. Any provisions attached to the bid will be liable to render it informal and may cause its rejection. The City of New Carlisle reserves the right to hold all bids for sixty (60) days, if necessary; to waive any irregularities in the bids; to reject any and all bids; and to enter into a contract with the bidder, who in its consideration, is the lowest responsive and responsible bidder.
