Public Announcement Request for Land Appraisal Statements

PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT REQUEST FOR LAND APPRAISAL STATEMENTS OF QUALIFICATIONS The Board of Miami County Commissioners is seeking the services of a qualified land appraiser to determine the fair market value of land that the Board may purchase over the next three years. Experienced parties who regularly undertake paid appraisals of commercial and other real property are invited to submit a Statement of Qualification for performing land appraisal services. Persons submitting SOQ's must have earned a recognized appraiser designation from a generally recognized professional appraiser organization for demonstrated competency in valuing and appraising real property, or have two years of experience in appraising real property and have successfully completed professional or college-level coursework in valuing real property from (i) a professional or college-level educational organization, or (ii) a generally recognized professional trade or appraiser organization that regularly offers educational programs, or (iii) an employer as part of an employee apprenticeship or education program similar to professional or college-level courses. Selected persons must execute a declaration indicating that due to his or her experience and education, he or she is qualified to make appraisals of the type of land being valued. SOQ's must also include the individual's rates for performing a land appraisal. From time to time, the Board will select from SOQs received an individual or individuals to perform land appraisals of lands designated by the Board. It is the intention of the Board of Miami County Commissioners to obtain SOQ's from interested individuals who meet the above indicated requirements and keep them on file for the calendar years 2020, 2021 and 2022. Three copies of statements of qualifications shall be enclosed in an envelope, sealed, and plainly marked on the outside "2020 LAND APPRAISER STATEMENT OF QUALIFICATION".
