LEGAL NOTICE Public Notice of Industries in Significant Non-Compliance (SNC) of Pretreatment Regulations as required in the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Title 40 Part 403 (General Pretreatment Regulations) The City of Mason is required to publish an annual listing of all industries that were in Significant Noncompliance (Code of Federal Regulations Title 40 Part 403.8(f)(2)(viii)) with pretreatment regulations during the previous pretreatment year. Industries that were in Significant Non-Compliance (SNC) during the period of September 1, 2022 to August 31, 2023 are as follows: Haag-Streit USA, 3535 Kings Mills Road, Mason, Ohio 45040. Violation: Third quarter (March-May). The City of Mason issued a letter of Significant Non-Compliance in March 2023 per program requirements due to chemical pumps failing to operate at the industrial wastewater pretreatment system causing a zinc discharge violation to the municipal POTW. Industry representatives provided notification of the pretreatment issue cause and restored pumps to operation. The industrial wastewater pretreatment system is currently operating in compliance.
