PUBLIC NOTICE It is the policy of the Dayton Board of Education to comply with the following federal mandates: REHABILITATION ACT OF 1973, SECTION 504 AND THE AMERICAN DISABILITIES ACT No otherwise qualified handicapped individual shall solely by reason of his/her handicap, be excused from the participation, be denied the benefits of; or subjected to discrimination under any program of activity receiving Federal Financial Assistance. PUBLIC LAW 101-476 INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES EDUCATION IMPROVEMENT ACT (IDEIA) All children with disabilities age 5-21 have available to them, a full and appropriate public education and related services designed to meet their unique needs, in the least restrictive educational environment. Under the provision to the act, a school district may use these funds for the excess cost of special education mid-above a calculated minimum amount that schools must spend to educate each of its students with disabilities. PUBLIC LAW 99-547 That assures the availability to all children with disabilities ages 3-5 and appropriate public education. Application procedures for the 2018-2019 IDEIA and Preschool funds will be initiated in the next few weeks. A public meeting will be held on JUNE 10, 2020 @ 9:00 A. M. Any resident of the Dayton City School District may submit written suggestions for expenditures: Chief-Office for Exceptional Children Dayton Public Schools 115 S.
