NOTICE OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HAMILTON, OHIO (Open Meeting) Date & Time: Wednesday, January 31, 2024 @ 6:00 p.m. Place: City Council Chambers 345 High Street Hamilton, Ohio 45011 Purpose: Special Meeting of Hamilton City Council City Council is meeting to have a discussion in executive session related to personell matters. 1. Notice is hereby given that, in accordance with Section 3.03 of the Hamilton Charter and during the course of the above referenced meeting(s), City Council may convene an Executive Session upon: 2. A member of Council making (and receiving a second) to a motion to convene an Executive Session, which: a. in the case of a Regular Meeting, shall be convened for the sole purposes of considering one of the Executive Session subject matters set forth below, or b. in the case of a Special Meeting, shall be called solely for the purpose of considering one of the subject matters permitted for an Executive Session solely as it relates to the subject matter provided in the Notice of the Special Meeting; and 3. Adoption of that motion by a majority of a quorum of City Council by a roll call vote. An Executive Session is permitted for the following purposes: 1. To consider confidential information related to the marketing plans, specific business strategy, production techniques, trade secrets, or personal financial statements of an applicant for economic development assistance, or to negotiations with other political subdivisions respecting request for economic development assistance. 2. To consider the appointment, employment, dismissal, discipline, promotion, demotion, or compensation of a public employee or official, or the investigation of charges or complaints against a public employee, official, licensee, or regulated individual, unless the public employee, official, licensee, or regulated individual requests a public hearing. 3. To consider the purchase of property for public purposes, or for the sale of property at competitive bidding, if premature disclosure of information would give an unfair competitive or bargaining advantage to a person whose personal, private interest is adverse to the general public interest. 4. To confer with an attorney for the public body concerning disputes involving the public body that are the subject of pending or imminent court action; 5. To prepare for, conduct, or review negotiations or bargaining sessions with public employees concerning their compensation or other terms and conditions of their employment; 6. To discuss matters required to be kept confidential by federal law or rules or state statutes; 7. To discuss specialized details of security arrangements where disclosure of the matters discussed might reveal information that could be used for the purpose of committing, or avoiding prosecution for, a violation of the law.
